Full-On Festivals And Cultural Events In Caracas

Festivals in the city come in a full swing and the citizens makes sure to celebrate all of them to the fullest. The celebrations, no matter on religious festivals or special events, the citizens chooses both indoor as well as outdoor venues. Some of the most happening festivals are:

los tambores de san juanLos Tambores de San Juan (The Feast of St. John)

The feast of John the Baptist is celebrated in a full swing with people gets together and dances on the African drums. The festival takes place in the month of June.

Procession of the Holy Shepherdess

The town of Barquismeto, part of Caracas, arranges the festival. The procession is started from the town of Santa Rosa and during the pageant a statue of the Divine Shepherdess is carried along. The procession group covers almost five kilometer of parade route. Even the spectators gather on the routes to cheer up the parade group.

Festival Internacional de Música

During the festival, the musicians from all over the world gathers here to represent their country’s music form that can vary from ethnic, classical, jazz, or contemporary rhythm. Hence, here you can hear you get a chance to enjoy worldwide music by sitting in one place. The distinguished festivity takes place in-between October and November.

La Cruz de Mayo

It is a time to pay homage to the cross. Here people gathers together to sing and dance.  la cruz de mayo

Epiphany (Feast of the Three Kings)

The feast of three kings is celebrated in different-different forms in Venezuela. It is celebrated to memorize the event when Three Kings’ visited to the Infant Jesus’ manger in Bethlehem. During the festival you can hear children singing songs and they are bestowed with gifts. Similarly, in several parts colorful processions are also organized.

Christmas Celebrations

One of the major festivals like other countries, during this festival the celebrations continue till several weeks. The fair starts from December 16 and continues till January 6. Even the midnight mass also takes place.

Semana Santa (Holy Week)

The occasion celebrated with many church events and colorful processions.

Diablos DanzantesFestival Internacional de Teatro

An event of world class theatre is organized for 17 days and people from all over the world come to the city to become part of it.

Diablos Danzantes

The dancing festival that takes place between May and June.
