The Virginia Creeper National Recreational Trail lies near Abingdon, Virginia. The trail extends for 34 miles and is famous for hiking, bird-watching, and horse-back riding.
The trail was formerly a footpath used by Native Americans. The railroad then acquired it and a locomotive named the Virginia Creeper plied on it. The trail acquired its name in this way.

7: Reelfoot Lake, Tennessee
