Culturally Flourished Montevideo
Not only Montevideo is an economical and administrative hub of Uruguay, but it is also regarded as cultural center of it. The city has numerous glorious palaces of the colonial era. The National Museum of Cultural history is located here. You can enjoy the city’s culture through music performances of the local bands, festivals, special exhibitions by the museums and theatre shows, among others. Not only this, the very first theatre of Latin America that came into existence almost 150 years ago is located in Montevideo.
Similarly, the local ball fields are also full of players in action so you can also move towards any of the fields to take a glimpse of sports or head towards nearby golf clubs to enjoy the game. The city also contains many renowned museums wherein, you can be able to take a look at its culture from the 19th century as well as the contemporary modern arts. Montevideo’s calendar is never free of festivals and one or the other feast is celebrated here. However, the most admired amongst all is Carnival. You can witness the ‘Murga’ celebrations during carnival and it is group of people that comes together to participate in the function. The Candombe of Montevideo is very famous. It is a traditional rhythm of Uruguay and the music is played with the drums made up of wood and leather. The tango form is also very prevalent in the city. If you are interested in opera and other dances than the best venue to be is Teatro Solís.
