Bogota – Culturally Distinguished

The city’s tiltness towards cultural things began from year 1950 with development in the fields of painting, literature, music, architecture, etc. Presently, the universities are offering many courses on artistic career studies. Presence of many cultural structures is also luring the citizens towards their culture. Similarly, the spots are a must watch for tourists.

Theatre:

The city contains two premier theatres these are Teatro Colon and Teatro Nacional, Calle 71 no 10-25, which shows similar productions.  Both the theaters show dramatic and operatic productions. The other theatre includes  Teatro de la Candelaria and  Teatro Experimental La Mama.

Music:

Many concerts of Colombian and international artists are hosted by The cultural centre of Colombia. During the concerts you will not only listen to folk or regional music but the classical and international music too. The city provides with all kind of music right from salsa, raga, samba to rock. Along with this, small music clubs also arrange live music performances.  Some of the music spots of the city include three famous music spots in the city namely Teatro Colon, Biblioteca Luis Angel Arango and Media Torta. If you are interested in opera and classical music than blindly go to Teatro Colon. It is famous for featuring international as well as local artists. Biblioteca Luis Angel Arango features international musicians. In Media Torta, you can be able to see performances for free on one of the one of the weekends.

Film:

Mainly Hollywood blockbusters are shown in the cinema halls. Some of the famous are Auditorio de la Antigua Calle del Agrado, Multiplex Cine Colombia, Cinemateca Distrital, and Centro Comercial Andino.
